GO Statement of Faith

Thank you for your interest in serving with GO

The foundation of our beliefs is the 66 inspired books of the Bible, made of the Old and New Testaments. We believe it was inspired by the Holy Spirit through men who heard from God and is His infallible written Word, without error in the original writings. It is the supreme and final authority concerning all faith and life and gives us instructions to have relationship with God, in all three persons, and others in our lives. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe there is only one God portrayed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

We believe Jesus Christ is God in His: virgin birth, fulfillment of prophecy, sinless life, miracles, death, resurrection, ascension, and return yet to come. (John 1:1; Matthew 1:18,25; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 9:15-22; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 9:27-28)

We believe that all have sinned and are separated from God, thus, needing a sacrifice in order to be cleansed and put back into right relationship with Him. John 3:16; Titus 3:3

We believe Jesus died on a cross for the sins of every man and is each person’s decision to accept His gift in order to have new life and be forgiven of their individual sins. He is the only path to eternity with God and rejecting Him as Lord and Savior, we would receive eternal suffering in hell. (John 3:16, 5:24; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

We believe that the assurance of Salvation is from the very moment someone trusts Christ as their Savior. This is not based on human merit but is the free gift of Christ’s death on the cross. The assurance is realized by the witness of the Holy Spirit in this person’s life. (Titus 3:4-7,

We believe Jesus ascended into heaven and is at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and humanity, continually makes intercession for His believers. (Mark 16:19; Luke 22:69; Acts 7:55-56; Colossians 3:1; Hebrews 1:3, 8:1, 10:12, 12:2; 1 Peter 3:22)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, that all believers are members of His body, the Church, and should model what Christ did for us in His life and ministry. (Philippians 2:1-4)
We believe each believer has been given specific talents given to them by the Holy Spirit that are irrevocable and are to be used for the glory of God. (Romans 11:29)

We believe God’s design for sexual intimacy is to be expressed only within the context of marriage. God instituted marriage between one man and one woman as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9)

We believe that God created all human beings in His image. Therefore, we believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; that we must honor the physical and spiritual needs of all people; following Christ’s example, we believe that every person should be treated with love, dignity, and respect. (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10)

We believe that God calls us to assemble together regularly to worship, have fellowship, and participate in ordinances, for the edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement. (Acts 2:42)

We believe that Jesus will return to earth to gather His followers and usher them into the presence of the Father. (Matthew 25:31-46)

We believe Jesus gave instructions to those who would believe in Him and has called us to be his spokespeople for those who do not know Him. We believe we are to be active in participating with the Holy Spirit to live holy lives; draw non-believers to know, receive, and understand Jesus and His sacrificial atonement for our sins; and to be active in sharing this Gospel, raising up new believers to live holy lives, and to send them out to be making disciple-makers, fulfilling His Great Commission to GO. (Matthew 28:19-20, John 14:15-26, John 16:5-16, Ephesians 1:13-14)

Jesus said,
“This is my commandment, that you love one another
as I have loved you."

John 15:12
